Charles J. Grund, AIA
Chuck is a principal at Grund & Riesterer Architects, Inc. which he helped establish in 1994. He has thirty-five years of experience in the field, is licensed in three states, and a member of the AIA. Chuck resides with his wife Terri in Brookfield, IL and has three children, Charles II, Stephanie and Kevin and two grand-children, Layla and Charles III.
Chuck was born and raised in Chicago, matriculating from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where following the teachings of Mies van der Rohe, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural degree in 1978.
In addition to practicing architecture, Chuck currently serves as the chairperson of the Village of Brookfield Planning and Zoning Commission and is an Emeriti Board member of Plymouth Place, a local Continuing Care Retirement Community, where he served as chairman for 2 years. While his children were in high school, he served as a member of the local Community Advisory Council. Physical fitness is an important aspect of Chuck's life and his almost daily regimens include fitness workouts, running, swimming and biking.
Charles P. Riesterer, AIA
Chuck is a principal at Grund & Riesterer Architects, Inc. which he helped establish in 1994. He has thirty years of experience in the field, is licensed in nine states, and a member of the AIA. Chuck resides with his wife Nancy in La Grange Park, IL and has a daughter Kelsey and son Cody.
Chuck grew up in Park Ridge and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where he earned a Bachelor Science in Architectural Studies degree in 1983 and a Masters in Architecture degree in 1985.
In addition to practicing architecture, Chuck has served on the School District 102 Delegate Committee, the La Grange Park Caucus and Village of La Grange Park Zoning Board as well as Chairman of the committee for a number of years.
